Wrapping up the re-remaster release schedule of the band's entire album output for Parlophone Records, Behaviour is a curious record and remains a core fan favourite in the Pet Shop Boys' catalogue. That isn't to say that this is only a work that a mother could love, it's simply the sound of a band growing up and evolving. Acknowledging that their 'imperial phase' has passed and documenting, essentially, how that feels. You've lived a little life, and experienced a decent enough chunk of the ups and downs of it for it to have changed the path of your life for good. Familiar faces and places are becoming memories, you're cutting ties, facing up to your flaws but haven't quite dealt with them. You still go out all weekend, but Monday mornings bring a little more of a shudder than they may have once done.
