Trax, Wax & Flac's

December 11, 2017

As much as music scenes seem to be ever fragmenting, and formats adapting and changing, there's been no let up in class tracks being released this year.

The 90s influences can be found right across the music of 2017, with ravey jungle vibes permeating a huge swathe of tracks in fantastically inventive ways, while it was the 80s that seemingly informed my track of the year, Today, by Tornado Wallace, who's album was great too.

On that front, albums seem to be unimportant to some but total game changers for others. My favourite this year coming from DJ Sports for his debut, Modern Species, on Firecracker Recordings.

You can hear those cuts, along with some of my other 2017 essentials in mixed-ish form on my most recent Hoxton FM show HERE.  Full tracklist below
