I'm just back from my first stint on the island of Obonjan in Croatia, for the first time this summer. A large chunk of my time landed during Electric Elephant's collaboration over an extended weekend, featuring all manner of boat parties, pool parties and forest bar sessions with the likes of Gerd Janson, Daniel Avery and Joe Goddard. Luke Unabomber held court poolside in a great extended workout on the Friday while Low Life's Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton spun all day Saturday, down in the sunshine of East Harbour (see pic). It was a top weekend and was lovely to catch up with a few friends I'd not seen in quite some time.
Following a particularly messy Saturday night in the forest with Justin Robertson and Sean Johnson, I sat down with Bill and Frank in The Pavilion for an open session to chat about their written work, specifically their most recent book The Record Players: DJ Revolutionaries, while the crickets chirped away in the trees.
