Dublin's All City Records first came to my attention via a string of stellar 12's in 2014 by The Cyclist, Baz Ludzha and Gamertag. I enjoyed their approach to mixing up genres and selecting artists who swerved straightforward approaches to making beats. The Cyclist album 'Flourish' in particular is one I regularly keep going back to - crunchy, wonky and dance floor driven in equal measure.
This new release from New Jackson continues the eclectic approach with a touch of slightly psychedelic pop that would sit very happily alongside Bullion's 'Loop The Loop' LP from last year.
A great little slow jam of a title track, dubbed out by Peaking Lights and complemented by the more up-tempo boogie of 'Let the Freak Come Out At Night.' It's a great stepping off point to delve into his latest LP 'From Night To Night,' which is out now.
New Jackson - Put The Love In It, is released on All City Records on 30th June, available to pre-order HERE
